Workplace Investigator

Randstad is searching for a skilled and accomplished Workplace Investigator who possesses a keen eye for detail and excels in their field. This role requires the ability to build and sustain strong relationships. Our collaborative department is in need of an enthusiastic individual who embraces challenges and is committed to making a positive impact within safety for the state government sector.

About your new role

The Workplace Investigator will lead and progress workplace investigations regarding allegations of misconduct or corrupt conduct. The role operates under a trauma-informed framework to ensure investigations are handled effectively, timely, and in compliance with relevant laws and policies.

What you will need to exceed

• Extensive experience in conducting investigations specifically within a government or public sector framework.
• A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or a nationally recognised qualification in Government (such as investigations, workplace inspections, or fraud control).
• Strong analytical skills to effectively investigate issues, evaluate evidence, and determine further lines of enquiry.
• Proven experience in preparing comprehensive investigation reports and executive-level documents within a government setting.
• The ability to understand and apply trauma-informed approaches when interviewing witnesses and subject officers and progressing investigations.
• The capability to set clear priorities, coordinate activities, meet strict deadlines, and handle complex risks and timelines.
• Ability to promote a positive team culture and good morale by sharing knowledge through formal and informal coaching and mentoring.
• Willingness and capability to occasionally work outside normal business hours, travel to alternate locations

Must have

• Must have a tertiary qualification or nationally recognised training in Government investigations/fraud control.

• Experience in working for government
